For now, bring a sourced correction through the private contact desk or leave a message for human review on the no-account Majlis Board; neither route publishes automatically.
Before you start
Every claim carries a source
That is the standard the whole site is held to, and it will govern the hosted contribution workflow when that workflow opens. Not because we distrust you — because an archive about a contested history is only worth something if a stranger who disbelieves every word of it can check every word of it.
A source is not a link
A book with no scan online is not weaker than a blog post with a URL. Author, title, year, page is a source. So is an archive, a box and a folder.
Testimony is a source
“My grandfather, born in Lifta in 1928, told me this in Amman in 2019” is a citation. It is published as testimony, attributed and dated — not laundered into fact.
“I do not know” is allowed
An uncertainty stated plainly can be published. A guess dressed as a fact cannot, and doing it once costs the archive more than the fact was worth.

This build is not connected to the contribution database, so it cannot accept a submission, issue a receipt or place anything into a public verification queue. The working contact desk and Majlis Board form hold submissions for private human review.
What this archive is short of
The villages with no page
241 of the Atlas's 425 mapped villages still have coordinates but no written record. A sourced paragraph about one of them — what grew there, who lived there, what the school was called — is worth more than another general essay about 1948.
Dates, spellings and numbers
The dullest corrections are the most valuable. A date off by a month, a transliteration that sends a searcher to the wrong place, a population figure copied from a bad source.
Family photographs, with their rights
Not the famous images. The ordinary ones — a house, a wedding, a field, a shop front — that no institution holds and that no one has scanned.
Sources that disagree with us
A source that contradicts something on this site is more useful than one that confirms it. Bring it, and where it survives checking the page changes.
