Mission
FALASTEEN exists to make reliable information about Palestine easier to find, follow and cite. It centres Palestinian voices, human-rights documentation, place, memory and the literary and intellectual traditions that have carried the record across generations.
It is not a rolling wire service, a political party or a fundraising platform. The permanent archive and the dated media desk are connected but distinct: one preserves records; the other makes sourced arguments in the present.
Falasteen (فلسطين) is the Arabic word for Palestine. The .AI is the web address, not the identity of the project and not a substitute for authorship. The editorial responsibility remains human.

What it holds
Land and memory
Villages, cities, camps, roads, families and maps that keep Palestinian place names at the centre of their own geography.
A living culture
Poetry, books, song, cinema, embroidery, food and the people who made them. Palestine is not described only by what was done to it.
A dated media desk
Bylined dispatches and sourced films that remain distinct from undated archive records and are corrected in public.

Editorial standards
Archive and analysis stay distinct
Archive records are written to endure. Dispatches are dated, bylined editorial work. A current interpretation is never silently folded into an undated record.
The source remains visible
Research entries link to the original publisher. Summaries may guide a reader, but they do not replace the report, book, testimony or recording behind them.
Scope every claim exactly
A legal body’s finding is stated with what it decided and what it did not. Where reliable sources disagree, the disagreement is part of the record.
Tools do not become sources
Software may help organise, search or test the archive. It does not make an unsourced claim true, supply a missing quotation or replace human editorial responsibility.
Attribution travels with the work
Poetry, quotations, photography and film remain attached to their authors, makers, rights holders and authoritative editions wherever one can be found.
Corrections are public work
When something is wrong, it is corrected and the change is noted. A clean-looking page is never more important than an honest record of the edit.

Community & privacy
The public record is open to read. There is no paid membership, no advertising tier and no sale of personal data.
- The Majlis Board
- The public message board is open to read and search without an account. Sending the form is not publishing: a writer must explicitly consent before their public name, broad location or message can be considered, and a person reviews every submission. Netlify Forms holds submissions for that editorial review. An optional email remains private and is never copied into the public archive. Use the contact desk to request removal of a submission or published message.
- Stories and photographs
- A contributed story remains the teller’s. Publication and reuse require agreement, and a removal request is handled by a person without requiring a public explanation.
- Safety
- Ordinary site forms are not secure tip lines. Do not send a private address, precise location or identifying information that could expose somebody to harm.

Editorial text and summaries written for this archive may be quoted and taught from with attribution to FALASTEEN. Take them into a classroom, leaflet, talk or thesis.
Quoted writing, photography, film and source material remain the property of their authors, publishers and rights holders. Follow the source link for the original terms before reusing them.
