Yasur

ياصُور

Gaza districtDepopulated 1948

Yasur was a Gaza-district farming village of 1,070 people in 1944/45, with a mosque, shops and a school on a plateau between roads to al-Majdal and Ramla. Sources place its capture by the Giv'ati Brigade around 10–11 June 1948, though one source summary gives 9 June. A 1992 survey found one standing house in a fenced military zone containing an aircraft-parts site; the cited records disagree over later settlement boundaries.
