Sirin lay seventeen kilometres north of Baysan, a village of 810 Muslims and Christians holding 28,445 dunums in 1944/45, with Byzantine mosaics and a Greek inscription among its houses. Units of the Golani Brigade occupied it on 12 May 1948, the day Baysan fell. No Israeli settlement was built on its land; a cemetery and a single house survive.
