Ni'ilya

نِعِلْيا

Gaza districtDepopulated 1948

Ni'ilya stood three kilometers south-southwest of al-Majdal on a site its people had rebuilt north of an older one the dunes had swallowed, holding the sand back with fruit trees and cactus hedges. Its school was finished in the winter of 1948 and never opened because of the war. The village was taken around the fall of al-Majdal on 4–5 November 1948; one house remains, lived in by a Palestinian family.
