Khirbat al-Wa'ra al-Sawda'

Khirbat al-Wa'ra al-Sawda' stood on a plateau of volcanic rock above Wadi al-Hamam and Lake Tiberias, seven and a half kilometres from Tiberias, its people mostly of the 'Arab al-Mawasi. No account of its capture was ever published — Khalidi could only set out two possibilities. What is recorded is an oral report from its people that in late October or early November 1948 fifteen men were rounded up, taken to Eilabun and shot; the soldiers came back and shot the bodies again in the head. Fourteen died.
