Hatta
حَتّا
Hatta was a rain-fed farming village thirty-one kilometres northeast of Gaza. The 1944/45 record counted 970 people and accounted for all 5,305 dunums of village land, 5,108 of them planted in cereals. The sources agree that the Giv'ati Brigade occupied Hatta during the July 1948 Ten Days and record its depopulation, but give 14–15, 17, or 18 July for the capture; the surviving site description dates to 1992, not the present.
