Fir'im

Fir'im stood on the southeastern slope of Mount Kan'an four kilometres from Safad, a densely built village of 740 people with a council drawn from its families, a boys' school and two olive presses. On the night of 2 May 1948 it was sporadically mortared along with two other villages — the attacks were mounted, in the words of an Israeli military report, so that in the end the Arabs would flee. Some stayed: an intelligence report filed in June records that the village was evacuated on 26 May as the result of a direct assault.
