Fajja
فَجَّة
Fajja stood a kilometer east of Petah Tikva and was attacked from May 1947, when a Palmach unit blew up its coffeehouse. Struck repeatedly by the Haganah and the Irgun through the early months of 1948, it was down to a few dozen residents by May; Haganah intelligence officers resolved on 9 May to expel what they called a bothersome element, and the last villagers left on 15 May under what military intelligence described as a whispering operation. One house and a pond remain.
