دَيْر نَخّاس

Hebron districtDepopulated 1948

Dayr Nakhkhas was a village of 600 people on a limestone hilltop above Wadi Bayt Jibrin, whose children walked to school in the neighbouring villages. It was occupied on 29 October 1948 — the day of the massacre at al-Dawayima, which Morris records as setting off a mass flight from the area around it.
