Al-Zeeb

Al-Zeeb was a fishing and farming village on the coast north of Acre, built over the Canaanite city of Akzib. It was taken on 14 May 1948 in Operation Ben-Ami, in the last hours of the British Mandate. Its domed mosque and the mukhtar's house still stand in the Achziv recreation area, beside kibbutzim founded on its lands.
