Al-Sawafir al-Sharqiyya
السَوافِير الشرقية
Al-Sawafir al-Sharqiyya, the eastern of three neighbouring Sawafir villages, had 970 residents and 13,831 dunums in 1944/45. Israeli-derived accounts date its occupation by the Giv'ati Brigade to 18 May 1948; Gamal Abdel Nasser's account instead places it around 25 June. A site survey published in 1992 found no village houses and recorded new buildings where the mosque had stood, but the fetched sources provide no later dated survey.
