Al-Salihiyya

Al-Salihiyya lay on the flat of the Hula plain where the Jordan meets Wadi Tur'an, twenty-five kilometres from Safad, an adobe village of 1,520 people whose living came from the papyrus of Lake Hula as much as from the land. In late May 1948 its young men wanted to hand over their arms and stay; the Haganah did not come to the meeting. It fell on 25 May in Operation Yiftach. The village has been obliterated and no trace of it remains.
