Al-Muzayri'a

المُزَيْرِعَة

Ramla districtDepopulated 1948

Al-Muzayri'a stood on a limestone hill at the end of the Ramallah heights, abandoned in the seventeenth century and resettled in the eighteenth by the al-Rumayh family from Deir Ghassaneh. Its boys' school drew children from the villages around, and a Roman mausoleum on its land had long since been made a mosque of al-Nabi Yahya. It was almost certainly taken during Operation Dani in mid-July 1948; the site is largely forested now.
