Al-Mansura

Al-Mansura was a Christian hamlet on the northern shoulder of an Upper Galilee mountain, twenty-nine kilometres from Acre, and part of Lebanon until the border was drawn in 1923. It was probably taken during Operation Hiram in October 1948; in mid-November the army ordered its people out, some into Lebanon and most by truck to al-Rama. The Maronite church asked in February 1949 that they be allowed home and was refused. Only the church of Mari Yohanna still stands.
