Tayem, four, was walking a few paces ahead of the crowd, holding his grandmother Hala Khreis's hand with a white flag in his other hand, when she was shot dead beside him on November 12, 2023, during the flight from Gaza City's al-Rimal neighborhood; separated from his family in the chaos, he reached the south with acquaintances and was later found in Rafah.
